I Failed But ViteHero is 70% Ready
Published: November 30, 2025 • 4 min read
You see, this blog post was supposed to be created and posted yesterday. However, I spent too much of my time yesterday crying. I signed a lease for a place in Montreal so it's official now. There's no backing out anymore.
The Weight of a Signature
I felt so much overwhelm the moment I did and started pacing around while consciously trying to take deep breaths. Normally, I'm the type of person who has multi-step plans laid out before making decisions like this, but in this case, all I know is Step 1: Go to Montreal. Step 2 to infinity: Figure it out as you go.
I haven't even told my parents yet because I don't want their fear of this decision to rub off on me. I'm already terrified. And also, I'm moving into an unfurnished place, which means I have to think about furniture. Do you know how much I hate having to think about furniture?
Oh well, I guess I have to keep reminding myself of why I'm doing this. I know logically that feeling fear like this is a good thing, a sign of growth, a sign that I'm pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. But I swear it doesn't feel that way when the light at the end of the tunnel is still so dim.
But I'll survive! I did it when I came to Canada the first time, I'll do it again even with a language barrier.
Why I Said "I Failed"
Okay enough of my rant. Why did I say I failed in the title? Well, in this blog post, I mentioned that I was going to try to get ViteHero ready in a one-day sprint, similar to the work I did at Outlier. However, I wasn't able to. I'll save my excuses as to why since honestly they're irrelevant. The bottom line is that ViteHero is now 70% ready. It's usable but it could still use a lot more polishing and extensive testing.
What's Left to Do
There are some UI issues in the application that I need to fix to create the best user experience. One of my wishes for this app was to create a smooth onboarding process but the current implementation does not do justice to that yet. And finally, I haven't extensively tested the application yet so I'll need to give time to that as there might still be a couple of bugs in the application.
Once I do all three of those, I'll change its status to 100% and record videos for it.
Why I'm Pausing ViteHero
Now why am I pausing this project? Well first of all, this app was sort of a distraction, a good distraction though. I was supposed to work on the 777-1 experiment but then when I shared this Claude God tip about creating sophisticated images so easily, I felt the inspiration to bring this application to life so I did. Now it's obviously prematurely born since it's still at 70% but I have to be honest with myself and reassess my priorities. Right now, the work that needs my attention is the 777-1 experiment.
But yeah, I'll definitely get back to it and hopefully by then, I'd have built a more sophisticated methodology for handling the remaining problems I need to resolve in the application.
As always, thanks for reading!
